Ray Cooper Linton, 83 of Paint Bank went to be with the Lord, Friday, November 2, 2012. He was the son of the late Otto and Freda Wickline Linton. He was preceded in death by his wife Glenna K. Linton and brother Glen J. Linton.
Mr. Linton served his country in the Korean War. He retired from the United States Postal Service. He was a member of the Humphreys Chapel Methodist Church. He was a charter member of the Paint Bank Fire Department and rescue squad.
He is survived by 2 daughters Sandra Kendrick and her husband Roy Kendrick of Roanoke and Phyllis Giles and her husband Jeff Giles of Troutville; 4 grandchildren Eric Bowling of Roanoke, Kevin Bowling and wife Ashley of Boones Mill, Jamie Dillard and wife Amanda of Daleville, and Brooklyn Giles of Troutville; 2 great-grandchildren Staci Bowling of Roanoke and Abigail Dillard of Daleville; sister Pearl Anderson of New Castle; and several nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Paint Bank Community Cemetery with Pastor David Brown officiating. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Monday, November 5, 2012 at Paitsel Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Humphreys Chapel, fire dept. or rescue squad.
