Ray Vina Aucoin Sellers joined her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in heaven March 9, 2016. Born October 9, 1924 she lived most of her life in Houston. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Fred Court Sellers, Sr. and son Fred Court Sellers, Jr. Ray is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Shari) Sellers Jackson and husband Daryl Jackson, granddaughter and husband Kristen and Patrick Reitmeyer, grandson and wife Chad and Lindley Jackson, great grandsons Jackson and Augustus Reitmeyer and Luke, Charlie, Miles and Way Jackson.
Ray met the love of her life Fred at a South Main Baptist Church picnic in December, 1941. They were married the following October 24 and began a glorious and joyful life together for the next 71 years. Their lives were spent serving the Lord each day. They walked hand-in-hand as role models of a committed and fulfilling Christian marriage.
A beloved wife and mother, Ray lived her life serving God as Bible study leader, Sunday School teacher, committee chair person and member, and WMU leader. She also taught English as a second language in the South Main International Language Education (SMILE). Ray and Fred led and hosted in-home Bible studies (South Main at Home) and continued to grow together sharing their love of the Lord Jesus Christ. Over the decades Ray has cherished her friends and Bible study with the Reba Class.
Visitation Thursday, March 24, 1:00 - 3:00 and Graveside service Friday, March 25 at 11:00 will be at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. Memorial service and reception will follow at 1:00 at South Main Baptist Church, 4100 South Main St, Houston, Texas to celebrate her life.
