Raymond Park Orem

Raymond was born September 29, 1927 and passed away June 8, 2014, with his family by his side, he was 86 years old.

He was born in Mulino, OR on September 29, 1927 to Thomas Glen and Eunice Orem. He attended grade school in Union Mills and High School in Molalla, OR. He joined the Navy in 1944 and served through 1946. On September 3, 1949 Ray married Retha Wilkerson in Vancouver WA. They started their home and family living in Molalla, OR. Ray was a logger and worked for Crown Zellerbach. In 1974 they purchased a grocery store in Prineville OR (R&R Grocery) where they worked side by side for 23 years.

Ray lost his wife Retha and a daughter Leslie, but he continued to enjoy his life. He loved spending time with his family. His favorite things were maintaining his yard and flower garden. He loved fishing, camping and making things in his shop. Ray was full of life and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his Three Sons and their spouses Dennis (Jo) of Kalama, WA, John (Bonnie) of Prineville OR and Joe (Anita) of Ione, OR, 18 Grandchildren and 41 Great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a Sister Marjorie Eggiman, of Portland and his Brother Lyle (Adele) Orem of Pendleton Oregon.

Raymond attended High school in Molalla Oregon, where he joined and proudly served in the United States Navy. After being honorably discharged from the Navy; Raymond began a career as a logger in the Molalla area where he operated heavy equipment and was also a faller for Crown Zellerbach logging. He married Retha on September 3, 1949 in Vancouver Washington and began their family.

The family asks in lieu of flowers that donations be made in Ray's name to the St. Charles Hospice in Prineville Oregon. Arrangements entrusted to Prineville Funeral Home.
