Raymond W. Phillips, age 89, passed away September 29, 2017.

Ray was proud to serve his country as a Korean War U.S. Air Force Veteran. Afterwards, he became a member of the American Legion. Ray also knew the meaning and fulfillment that can come from hard work. He worked for Ford Motor Company for many years and retired in 1982. Ray had many passions in his life. One of the greatest passions was the love he had for the outdoors and nature. He went on too many camping and fishing trips to count. He also liked flying his R/C planes and was a member of the Fraser Flying Club. Above all, Ray loved his family and put his all into being a great husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and step-father.

Ray was the beloved husband of the late Sandra Phillips and the late Gerri Phillips; loving father of the late Debra Martin, Shirley (William) Knapp, Sharon Phillips, and Robert (Kathleen Jones) Phillips; devoted grandfather of David Walzak, Billy Martin, Joe Garner, Michael Mendoza, Courtney Phillips, and Shannon Castleberry; proud great-grandfather of Adam, Alex, Matthew, Samantha, Sydney, Megatron, Joey, Mannix, Dakota, and Josie; and dear brother of Rev. Norman Phillips, the late Marvin Phillips, the late Carl Phillips, the late Ronnie Phillips, and the late Joyce May. Ray was also survived by several step-children and their families.

Visitation Thursday, October 5, 3 - 8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Funeral Service at Kaul Funeral Home, 35201 Garfield, Clinton Twp.
