Rebekah Dawn Zarate was granted her angel wings on November 1, 2017 after a 5 ½ year battle with brain cancer. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Rebekah had touched in some small way throughout her short, yet very memorable life.

Rebekah’s life would seem far too short to many, but those who knew her know that the quality of life she had achieved in that short span far exceeds what many would hope for.

Rebekah was born as the youngest of 3 siblings at Baylor Hospital at Dallas on January 4th, 1965, to Samuel and Johnie Adcock. She attended school in Duncanville, Texas and graduated from Duncanville High School in 1983. Rebekah had a passion for people and it was made evident as she grew into a well-respected and loved leader in the revenue cycle industry. As a beloved leader she influenced heavily on her coworkers, not only in building relationship but maintaining them long term as well. She, to this day, had heavy impacts on everyone she has led, worked with, and had any direct connection with. Her daily interactions with staff and coworkers were not just infectious around the water cooler, but they held values that carried into their personal lives as well.

She married Martin Zarate Sr. in 1985. In him, she found her life-long partner, companion, and best friend. Together they raised 3 children, Martin Wallace Zarate (35), Aislyn Diane Varela (31), and Martin Zarate Jr. (28). They built a life full of love, laughter, and happiness in Coppell, Texas.

Rebekah was preceded in death by her father, Samuel Adcock Sr., and her sister, Teena Adcock.

She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Martin Zarate Sr., and her children Martin Wallace Zarate (Karinae), Aislyn Varela (Darwin), and Martin Zarate Jr.; her mother, Johnie Adcock; her sisters Leisa Beckett (Larry), Charlene Monroe (Ron), and Misty Anderson (Daniel); her grandchildren Diego Zarate, Sofia Zarate, Isabel Varela, and Sergio Varela.
