It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Richard John Heidland on January 11, 2018. Richard was born on May 27, 1933 in Donna, Texas, to John T. Heidland and Mary Young Turner Heidland. He was preceeded in death by his parents, his wife Peggy Johnson Heidland, and his brother Jim Heidland.



Richard was a Seabee and served as a Construction Electricians Mate Petty Officer 2nd Class in the U.S. Navy from 1951-1955. He was a proud 67 year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and worked as an Electrical Contractor for many years.



Richard was a humanitarian as shown by his work and membership with the Shriners International. He was also an honored member of the Mathis Masonic Lodge #1133.



He was especially passionate about fishing and was adventurous as demonstrated by his extended travels through Latin America.



Richard was a loving and caring husband and friend to his many drinking and fishing buddies.



He is survived by his wife's children, Brenda Galbreath and husband Ronnie, David Moore and wife Joy, Pamela Franklin and husband Darrell, Jamie Webb and husband Daymon, and Susan Walters and husband Mark. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.



Graveside Services will be at Memory Gardens at 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas, on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 2 pm.
