Richard Joseph, 87, died at 9:05 pm on March 10 at his residence. He was born on September 14,1924 in Hardin County, the only child of Lillian (Hicks) and Warney Joseph. His parents died before he was two years old, so his maternal grandparents raised him. He had been married to Betty L. A veteran of World War II, Richard served in the Navy where he was honorably discharged, having served in the Pacific Theatre. He retired in 1986 as a foreman from Teledyne/Ohio Steel where he had worked for over 40 years.

Two daughters survive him, Patricia A. (John H.) Johnson of Lima and Debra K. (Kenneth) Nester of Wapakoneta. He is survived by two granddaughters, Angela Nicole Nester (Kevin) McGlothen and Kelli Ann Nester (Austin) Fisher, both of Wapakoneta, and a step-granddaughter, Mindi Hoge of Las Vegas, Nevada. One grandson, John Richard Joseph Johnson of Lima, better known as J.J, survives him.

Five great-granddaughters also survive: Karsyn, Rilyn, and Lynex McGlothen and Berkley and Lauryn Fisher.

Special thanks to his loving caregivers: Barb Dawson of Van Wert, Judy Miller of Wapakoneta, Rheanne Halker of Elida and Shani Spencer of Waynesfield.

Arrangements are by Bayliff and Son, Cridersville. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger. There will be no visitation or public services. Memorial contributions may be made to Lima Memorial Health Systems Foundation, 1001 Bellefontaine Avenue, Lima 45804.
