ROWLETT, TX — Richard Melvin McDougall, 76, of Rowlett passed away early Monday

morning, September 18, 2017, at Senior Care at Beacon Harbor/Lake Pointe, Rockwall.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Sacred Heart Chapel, Sacred Heart Cemetery, 3900 Rowlett Road, Rowlett, TX 75088.

Arrangements under the direction of Anderson-Clayton-Gonzalez Funeral Home, Mesquite, TX.

Richard was born February 9, 1941 in Ellwood City, PA to Glenn L. McDougall and Myrna N. Wylie McDougall. He is survived by his devoted wife, Sharon Marie Prigmore of Rowlett. Married on April 29, 1976, Rich and Sharon shared 41 years of marriage.

Rich will be lovingly remembered by his sisters, Glenda (Bill) Tait and Karen McDougall both of Garland; sons, Jeff (Alisa) McDougall of Ferris, David (Lora) McDougall of Corinth; daughter, Jennifer (Andrew) Meek of Fate; step-son, Chip (Denise) Davis of Murphy. Richard “PaPa” adored his 5 grandchildren: Sara and Patrick Davis of Murphy, Lance and Luke McDougall of Corinth, and Preston Meek of Fate. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Richard was predeceased by his parents and brothers, Glenn and Gene McDougall.

Rich attended Grove City High School and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1959 to 1961 as a Supply Specialist. He worked at a steel mill in Pennsylvania before moving to Texas where he ran several businesses before retiring from Pittsburgh Paint. He also enjoyed umpiring for many years for the Rowlett Youth Baseball League and served as the Ambassador to Waterview Golf Course in Rowlett.

He loved golfing, bowling, baseball, fishing, hunting, NASCAR, and playing cards. He was a devoted, loving husband, father, and doting grandfather who will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
