Richard (Dick) P Williamson passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018 at the Suncoast Hospice in Palm Harbor, FL, 10 days after a fire destroyed his home. Dick lived in a multi-generational home with his daughter, Valerie (Vandy) Williams, granddaughter, Molly Williams Hagn, and great granddaughters, Camila (Mila) & Isabella (Bella). On Tuesday, January 2, 2018, Dick was home with a family friend, 12 year old, Seth, when a fire broke out, forcing them to escape the burning building. The disruption to Dick's daily routine impacted his health, resulting in hospitalization and a rapid decline in mentation. Dick was admitted to the care of Hospice on Thursday, January 11, 2018, & died early the following morning.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carole Junior Williamson; great granddaughter, Carolina Isabella Cadena Gomez; his brother Al Williamson (Dolly); and sister Linda Williamson. Dick is survived by 4 daughters, Danah Williams Heye (Christopher) of Palm Harbor, FL; Valerie (Vandy) Williams of Palm Harbor, FL; Carrie Williams LaCourse of Palm Harbor, FL; Kristen Williamson Allbright (Michael) of Allen, Texas; 9 grandchildren, Katy Catalano (James); Molly Williams Hagn; Jefferson Allbright (Karen); Nicholas LaCourse; Shelby Heye; Emily Fjeldsted Hocking (Jordan); Harrison Allbright; Caroline Allbright; Phoebe Allbright; 5 great grandchildren, Camila, Nicholas, Isabella, Victoria, & Rose.

Dick served in the United States Army during the Korean War being honorably discharged in 1956. He attended Michigan State University graduating with a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration. His career path was in air conditioning with a variety of roles, from a salesman for Trane to President of Emerson Quiet Cool. He briefly retired in 1978 but after purchasing a patent for a heat recovery system, he formed his own company, American Equipment Systems, Oldsmar, FL, until officially retiring for a second time in his early 70s.

Dick and Carole were devoted followers of Christ and active members at The Kirk Church, Dunedin, FL. Upon Carole's death, Dick continued supporting her passion for developing a children/youth ministry by contributing to a playground for the kids. In lieu of flowers, we are asking donations be made in his name to The Kirk Church, specifying the children's ministry to continue this legacy of love.

There is a celebration of Dick's life scheduled for Sunday, January 21, 2018, at 1 p.m. at The Kirk Church, 2686 Bayshore Blvd, Dunedin, FL 34698. Please stay after the service and join us for a meal consisting of Dick's favorites
