Richard W. Green "Greenie" passed peacefully from this life the morning of December 27th, 2017 at the age of 64, after a brief battle with cancer. He was surrounded and supported by his loving family during the last hours of his life. Greenie was born on February 19th, 1953 in Montour Falls, NY to Elizabeth "Betty" Green and Stewart E. Green whom are predeceased.

Greenie was a people person and always enjoyed sharing and listening to stories. Greenie loved sports, especially playing softball. He was an avid NY Giants, NY Yankees, and NASCAR fan. Before closing, Greenie was a Forklift Operator for Shepard Niles in Montour Falls for 17 years. He tended bar at the Watkins Glen Elks Lodge and often referred to himself as a "Psychologist." In addition to being a member of the Watkins Glen Elks Lodge 1546, he was a past member of the Mechanics Club and the VFW. He always enjoyed being outdoors especially when he was on neighborhood watch.

Greenie is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 42 years, Debbie and his children, Wendy Green, Tracey (Eric) VanSkiver, and Buffy Green. In addition to his parents, Greenie was predeceased by his son, Michael Green. He will be fondly remembered by his eight grandchildren, Alexsis, Trevor, Olivia, Natalie, Lucas, Markus, Mitchell, and McKenna; sisters, Debbie Besley, Billie Green and Patty Searing, and his brother, Stewart (Cindy Boyer Green predeceased) Green; nieces and nephews, Stewart, Kelly, Logan, Krista, and Matthew; as well as many cousins.

A celebration of Greenies life with a time to share memories and stories will be held on Saturday, January 6th, 2018 begining with an Elks Memorial Service at 3pm with a time to visit until 6pm at the Haughey Wood Funeral Home, 119 5th St., Watkins Glen, NY 14891. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Greenie's name to the charity of one's choice. Memories and stories may also be share with Greenie's family and friends at
