SOUTH PEKIN ~ Ricky L. Sloneker, 70, of South Pekin, passed away at 10:48 p.m. Friday, April 3, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born January 2, 1950 in Pekin to Richard L. and Donna Lee (Gent) Sloneker. He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew. He married the love of his life Nana Beth Berry on April 27, 1973 in Copperas Cove, Texas. She survives.

Ricky is also survived by one sister, Kennet “Kiki” (Lonnie) Gossage of Jacksonville; one brother, Gary Joe Sloneker of Blackhawk, Colorado.  Also surviving are two nieces, Tammie (Chris) Blevins of Morton and Tara Fogg of Lochbuie, Colorado and two nephews, Christopher (Jennifer) Sloneker of Arvada, Colorado and Jeremy (Sarah) Zills of Copperas Cove, Texas; five great nieces; two great nephews; and one godson.

Ricky worked and retired from Caterpillar.

He enjoyed gardening and canning his vegetables, the outdoors, fishing and watching any NASCAR driver in a Ford. Ricky never met a stranger.

He will always be remembered as an amazing husband, brother, uncle, and a United States Army Bronze Star Veteran.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a celebration of life will be held for Ricky at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
