Mrs. Rita (Menard) Bianchi, 93, of Adams, died on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at the Mt. Greylock Extended Care Facility in Pittsfield.
She was born in Ludlow on August 20, 1924, a daughter of the late Felix and Josephine (LaFromboise) Menard. She attended schools in Ludlow and moved to Dalton and graduated from the former Dalton High School in 1942.
Mrs. Bianchi worked for many years as a secretary at General Electric Co., Pittsfield until retiring in 1984.
She was a communicant of the Parish of St. John Paul II at Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church, Adams, where she had been a member of the Rosary Sodality. She was a member of the G.E. Quarter Century Club and the Adams Senior Citizens.
Her husband, Joseph Peter Bianchi, whom she married on October 11, 1947, died on August 25, 2004.
She is survived by a son Peter Bianchi of Las Vegas, NV; one brother, Peter Menard of Windsor; a Brother-in-Law, George Staples of Dalton; a grandson, Scott Bianchi of Las Vegas and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Anthony Menard and by her sister Leah Staples.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 22nd at 10:00 A.M. in Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church, McKinley Square, Adams.
Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams.
