Rita Lou Denton-Alvarez, 57, of Soledad entered into eternal peace, Monday, April 30, 2012 while at home with her family after a long illness. Rita was born October 10, 1954, a daughter of the late James and Joyce Denton. She graduated from Gonzales High School in 1973. She loved gardening, taking care of animals, and going on long drives to enjoy the scenery. She loved nature and saw the beauty of God's creation in everything around her. She had a deep faith in the Lord and trusted in his plan for her. She cherished every moment she spent with her family and friends, especially those with her grandchildren. She was a wonderful woman with a big heart full of compassion and kindness. She will be missed forever by all those who knew and loved her. She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her husband; "Greñas" Alvarez, her daughters; Christina Marin, Teresa Alvarez, Rebecca Alvarez, and Crystal Alvarez-Moreno, her grandchildren; Brenda and Amanda Marin, Joseph Bustos, and Alexis and Andrew Medina, her brothers; James W. Denton and Rodney Denton among other loving family and friends. Memorial Service will be held Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Liberty Chapel, 274 Kidder St. in Soledad, CA. Interment will follow at Soledad Cemetery.
