Robbye Lee Snowden was born January 18, 1927 in Leslie, Arkansas, the daughter of A.C. and Eula Rough Thompson. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers A.C. Jr. and his wife Rachael; Raymond and Robert; her husband, Jack Snowden, and her beloved nieces, Betsy Thompson, and Judy Garrett.

She is survived by her children: Debra Doss, David Doss and his wife Elizabeth; Dayna and her husband General Robert Parker; three grandchildren: Lindsey and Payton Doss, and Kellen Kolbeck; her step-children: Dan Snowden and his wife Nong, Helen Foster and her husband Billy, Jan Goff and her husband Phil, Jack David Snowden and his wife Karen; in addition to 11 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren; her niece, Carole Thompson, and countless friends throughout Arkansas and Texas.

Robbye grew up in Monticello, AR, attended the University of Arkansas, graduated from Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas and received her Master's Degree from Texas Tech University. She taught English in Arkansas, Florida, and Texas. Robbye was an Elementary School Librarian in Plano for 26 years and her greatest joy was reading to the children each week.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Plano, Delta Kappa Gamma for 45 years, and the Texas Retired Teachers' Association, and most importantly, an avid Texas Ranger Fan.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 1:00pm at the First United Methodist Church , 3160 E Spring Creek Pkwy, Plano, TX 75074 with Pastors Matt Gaston and Ed Volfe.
