Robert Anthony Mazel, 59, of Windsor, died on Thursday, November 16, 2017 in his home. He was born March 24, 1959. A devoted son of the late Custant J. "Cuggy" and Mary Fortuna Mazel and brother of the late Roger A. Mazel. He was a lifelong resident of Windsor, earned degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Connecticut. He worked for 10 years in his professional field until he and his brother dedicated their lives working full time caring for their ailing mother who died in 2008. Immediately following his mother’s passing, his brother Roger was diagnosed with cancer and passed in 2010. Robert was then diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. He embraced his new challenge diligently with little help working to maintain a normal life despite all circumstances in the home in which he grew up. Robert cultivated a lifelong love of baseball, motocross, alpine and Nordic skiing, bicycling, and running; despite a life altering motocross accident at a young age. He was a very genteel man deeply rooted in his faith. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. He leaves behind aunts, uncles, cousins and a beloved life-long neighbor and friend Lori Possum. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017, 10 am., in St. Joseph Church, 1747 Poquonock, Ave, Windsor. Burial be in St. Joseph Cemetery in the Poquonock section of Windsor, immediately following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Robert's memory to National Parkinson's Foundation.
