Bob Audette passed away peacefully at home on Friday Sept 29th, 2017. We have all lost our best friend and shining light in our lives. Robert Richard Audette was fifth born to Arthur and Theresa Audette on July 11, 1956, in South Burlington where he grew up in a very active neighborhood with lots of friends that he stayed in touch with. Bob's inherent musical talents had him in a band in fourth grade called "Malcolm, Jake and Scrawny Chicken"! Many bands were to follow leading up to EARTHBORN with his youngest son Jarryd, the late Pud Smith, Chris Horton and his BFF Gary Francis. His love for their craft was a joy for all he played with. Tennis was another passion and Bob was a State Doubles Champion in 1973 and 1974, and continued playing Semi-Pro. Bob was an instructor at Racquet's Edge, and for eight years coached his son's and their teammates Varsity Tennis Team at Mount Mansfield High School. He ran the Bayside Tournament in Mallet's Bay for many years, and participated in all of the local tournaments. Many great tennis friendships were forged and are everlasting. Bob leaves his legacy of friendship, musicianship, sportsmanship, and a passion for his Shaklee business and helping anyone, anytime to his wife and business partner of 32 years, Pamela, his beloved sons Tyler and his partner Sue and her children Maggie and Giovanni, and his son Jarryd. Bob leaves his siblings; Sandy and her husband Tim Dienst, Bill Audette and his wife Patty Collins, Sue and Larry Hayes, Nancy and Al Lacroce, and Tom and Diane Audette; his Father and Mother-In-Law Raymond and Gloria Foss, brother and sister-in-law Deede and Rob Krantz, David Foss and Becky Stearns, Daniel and Olga Foss, and Holly and Dan Trahan. Bob is also survived by his nephews Doug and Meredith Dienst and daughter Claire, Darren Dienst, Brian and Shannon Hayes and son Owen, Ben and Mary Krantz, Caleb and Lindsay Krantz and their son Shep, Will and Ann Trahan, Chris and Avianna Trahan, and Jacob Trahan; his nieces Alice and Bob Russell and their children Ella and Bode, Meghan, Shelly, Abigail, Olivia, Caroline Audette, Kathryn and Ann Foss; his dear friends Rob Anderson, Gary Francis, Dave Brackenberry, Norm Martel, Joe Franz, Damon Fitch, and countless fishing and tennis partners. Bob's incredible Shaklee Team, Delma Costello, Jim and Terry Pecor, and hundreds of Shaklee people that loved him. Too many to name cousins and Aunts and Uncles whose reunions he never missed and at which his band usually played! Bob was pre-deceased by his Mother and Father Theresa and Arthur, and his dear friends Bob Smith and Troy Brown. Visiting hours are scheduled for Friday, October 6th from 11:00am to 2:00 pm at the Ready Funeral Home South Chapel, 261 Shelburne Rd., Burlington, VT with a service to follow at 2:00pm in the funeral home. A pot-luck party to celebrate Bob's life will be held on Saturday, October 7th, 2017 at a time/location to be determined. All are welcome to attend; if you play an instrument or have a voice - bring it, along with any stories or memories you'd like to share. In lieu of flowers please consider contributing to a cause close to Bob's heart: Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation, c/o Rebecca Ellis, One National Life Drive, Montpelier 05620-3520 The family would like to thank Sarah Mariani RN, ABMDI for her extraordinary care; David Foss and Sue Bailey for their above and beyond support, and to all our friends and family for their many heartfelt kindnesses and loving support.
