Robert E. McCarthy, Jr., 55, completed his journey here on earth and returned to his heavenly home on January 20, 2018 after a valiant battle with Crohn's disease.
Robbie "Bob" was born in Westfield, MA to the late Robert E. McCarthy, Sr. and Marielle L (McCarthy) Morgan on September 22, 1962. He lived in Southwick, MA until he was 15 then moved with his parents to Dunedin, FL . He is a graduate from Dunedin High School Class of 1980. Robbie had a lifelong career as a Maintenance Specialist and worked at Grande Bay Apartments in Clearwater; there wasn't anything he couldn't fix.
He was an avid golfer, a Nascar Fan, and huge fan of all the Tampa Bay sports team, especially the TB Lightning. Always ready for competetion, Rob was the reigning "Commish" of the Family Football Pickem as well as the only 3-peat champion. He enjoyed the family's annual corn-hole tournament competing against his many nieces and nephews who considered him the "fun uncle".
Robbie is survived by his mother, Marielle Morgan, his sisters Diane Stimpson (Dale), Dawn Carr (David), Susan McCarthy and Barbara McCarthy. His Nieces and Nephews, Edward Carr, Danielle Carr, Andrew Carr, Matthew Stimpson, Marc Stimpson and Michelle Stmpson Winiewicz. He also leaves behind 11 Great Nieces and Nephews.
A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home in Clearwater, FL. At the family's request in lieu of flowers, pay it forward for someone in need and let them know that God loves them.
