Robert Frank Cilento, 86, of Point Pleasant Beach, NJ, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at preferred Care in Wall, NJ. Robert was born on September 28, 1930 in Newark, NJ. He attended West Side High School in Newark where he excelled in sports and was an All-State football player, graduating in 1948. He was later inducted into the Newark Athletic Hall of Fame. Robert attended George Washington University on a football and baseball scholarship and graduated in 1952. He went on to play professional baseball with the Washington Senators organization.

Robert was the owner of Stadium Auto Wreckers in both Newark and Sayreville until retiring in 2007. He was an avid horse racing enthusiast and loved his days at Monmouth Park.

Robert is survived by his wife of 65 years, Patricia; his four children, Robert Cilento and his wife Barbara of Lewes, DE, Joanne Seibel and her husband Dann of St. Clair, MI, Michael Cilento and his wife Beverly of Point Pleasant, NJ, and Stephen Cilento and his wife Jessica of Manasquan, NJ; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Connie Petronella and her husband George; brother, Richard Cilento; many nieces and nephews; and his favorite dog, Spike II.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 from 10-11am at St. Peter's Church, 406 Forman Ave. Point Pleasant Beach, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be held immediately following at 11am. Neary-Quinn Funeral Home, 39 South Street, Manasquan, NJ is in charge of the arrangements.
