Mr. Robert Franklin Ford, 93, of Thurmont, died Wednesday, March 14 at the Glade Valley Nursing Center. He was the husband of the late Catherine Louise Mercer Ford, who died Dec. 23, 2006. Born May 30, 1918 in Straban, PA, he was a son of the late Zacharias and Mary McDaniel Ford. Mr. Ford worked as a track man for the Railroad. He was a member of Trinity U.C.C. of Thurmont, a veteran of W.W. II and also a member of the American Legion Post # 168 Thurmont. Surviving are two children: Nancy C. Seiss and husband Glenn of Creagerstown, and Robert F. Ford, Jr., and wife Mary of Albert Lea, MN, 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson. Mr. Ford is at the Robert E. Dailey & Son Funeral Homes, P.A., 615 East Main Street, Thurmont, where the family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M., Friday, March 16. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 17 at the funeral home with Rev. Sean Delawder, officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Cemetery, Thurmont.
