Robert H. Hall, age 84, of Kingsley, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017 at the Grand Traverse Pavilions. He was born Aug. 27, 1932 in Mount Pleasant to Orlin and Beatrice (Weatherby) Hall.
Bob enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country from 1953 to 1955. Bob worked for Hoeflin Service in Kingsley from 1955 to 1957. He then worked for Standard Electric from 1962 to 1964. Bob retired from the Grand Traverse County Road Commission after 30 years of service in 1994. He was a former member of the Masonic Lodge, the Kingsley Volunteer Fire Department and the Summit City Grange. Bob was a longtime member of the Kingsley Baptist Church.
Bob is survived by his children, Debbie (Dave) Heim, Ron (Debi) Hall and Bruce (Lindsey) Hall; son-in-law, Jeff Stevens; stepchildren, Ken Kolndorfer and Debra (David) VanHulle; sisters, Ellen Schwartzlander, Judy Olszewski and Pat Dehmel-Perkins; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and several dear friends including those at the Loon's Nest Restaurant. Besides his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Charrie; daughter, Sally Stevens; two brothers; and six sisters.
A visitation was held Friday, Feb. 10, 2017. A funeral was held Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017, at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior, at the Kingsley Baptist Church. Burial took place in the spring at Evergreen Cemetery in Kingsley. Memorial contributions in Bob's name may be directed to Kingsley Baptist Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Covell Funeral Home of Kingsley.
