Robert "Bob" "Doc" Goncalo, 63, passed away on December 24th after a long illness.

He was the son of the late John and Nancy ( McGee) Goncalo and was a resident of Fall River for most of his life. Bob was a 1972 graduate of Diman Regional Technical Vocational High School and worked for many years at Charlton Memorial Hospital in their maintenance department. He also worked at Corrigan Mental Health Center and at Sarama Lighting.

Bob was an accomplished guitarist playing with several bands over many years including Caine, and he had been a Sound man for The Smith Brothers Band. He also enjoyed birding and martial arts in his free time.

Surviving are his three brothers John and his wife Virginia of Welfleet, MA, Bill and his wife Jennifer of Fall River, and David Goncalo of Fall River; three sisters Jan O'Connell and her husband Warren of Sacramento, CA, Sue Syde and her husband Bill of Westport and Carolyn Coe and her husband Roy of Hillsborough, NC, 13 nieces and nephews who adored their uncle, as well as many cousins and friends including his lifelong friend, Paul Silva.

His Funeral Service will be Sunday December 31, 2017 at 1PM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River, MA. Relatives and friends invited.
