Mr. Robert Settlemyer, better known to family and friends as "Mr. Sweetie", "Papa" and "Red", age 82, of Hampton, GA passed away April 15, 2012. Mr. Settlemyer was born in Marshall, MO the son of the late Schuler Lissie and Annie Irene Fox Settlemyre. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Margie Galloway; a daughter, Alice Patricia Maltba; brother, Herman Settlemyre and a sister, Susan Settlemyre. Mr. Settlemyer was known for owning and operating Sweetie's Flea Market, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, eating breakfast at Hardees, was always helping other people, fishing, and in his younger years Stock Car Racing. He served his country in the US Army, was a member of First Baptist Church of Hampton, He was a member of the Hill Patrick Chapter #441 O.E.S., Past Master of Hampton Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Pythagoras Chapter No.10 R.A.M. and Griffin Commandery No.35. Survivors are his wife, Della Faye Settlemyer of Hampton; children, Kay Muhsam (Mark) of Bellevue, WA, Virginia Allen (Ralph) of Jonesboro; son, Chuck Croft (Lisa) of Hampton; 12 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren; brother, Paul David Settlemyre of WVA, Lloyd Settlemyre of NC and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday night from 6 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Funeral service will be Thursday, April 19, 2012 – 11:00 AM in the chapel with Larry Griggers officiating. Interment will follow at Berea Cemetery in Hampton.
