Robert M. Jarett, 66, of Wallingford, CT, died Sunday September 29, 2013 in Yale-New Haven Hospital. Mr. Jarett was born June 19, 1947 in East Orange, NJ, son of the late Margaret Ericsson Jarett. He was a proud former member of the U. S. Marine Corps, serving in the Vietnam Conflict. After his military service, Bob worked in a variety of industries and capacities. Most recently, Bob was contracted by leading financial firms to be their official representative Notary at real estate closings. Bob was known for his kindheartedness and giving nature toward others. He was an avid fan of all things culinary and horse racing. Bob is survived by his daughters, Debra Jarett Redburn, and her husband Mark, of Lansing, MI, and Erin Jarett Thazhampallath and her husband Geen of Middletown, CT; his grandsons, Noah Robert, Joshua and Eli Thazhampallath; his former wife Diane Gustin Jarett of East Haven and his nephew William Jarett of West Haven. He also loved and was devoted to his canine companion Mad Cap. Bob was predeceased by his son Robert Jarett and his brother Arthur W. Jarett. Relatives and friends may call Wednesday from 5 – 8 PM at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St., Branford, and are invited to a funeral service Thursday morning at 10:00 in the funeral home. Burial, with USMC honors, will follow in Center Cemetery, Branford.
