Bob Monilaws, 82, Absaraka, ND died on Wed, Oct. 19, 2011 at the VA Hospital, Fargo, ND.

Robert Thomas Monilaws was born on June 24, 1929 in Fargo, ND to Robert E. and Florence (Hagemeister) Monilaws. He grew up on the family farm near Absaraka and attended school in Absaraka and graduated from Wheatland High School. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged with rank Sergeant First Class. Bob married Catherine Pavlik on October 1, 1955 in Buffalo, ND. They made their home on the family farm where he farmed with his brother, Keith until his retirement. He also drove school bus for Central Cass School for 37 years.

Bob served on the Absaraka Telephone Board, Absaraka School Board, Empire Township Board, and was a 4H leader.

He is survived by his wife, Kate; children, Lynn (Mike) Masso, Stacy, MN, Tom (Patty), Absaraka, Melanie (Seven) Dorow, North Platte, NE, Steve (Ruth), Absaraka, John (Stacy), Valley City, ND, and Ray (Sarah) Baker, Bismarck, ND; grandchildren, Ashley (Tony) Leseman, Meghan (Josh) Kolkind, Brandi Masso, Matt and Megan Peterson, Whitney Monilaws, Mariah and Natalie Monilaws, Michael and Steven Baker; siblings, Kenneth, Absaraka, Keith (Sharon), Absaraka, Arlo (Donna), Sarasota, FL, and Mary (John) Fornes, Fargo; and many nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Hospice of the RRV.

Visitation: Friday, October 21, 2011 from 6 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at Casselton United Methodist Church.

Funeral: Saturday at 2 PM at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Casselton.

Burial: Wheatland (ND) Cemetery.

Arrangements with West Funeral Home, Casselton.
