Robert O. Boschen, 62, of Avon, beloved husband for 32 years of Marsha (Marino) Boschen, died unexpectedly Friday, April 16, 2010. Born in New York City, son of the late Robert F. and Mary Catherine (Boucher) Boschen he was raised in Darien and received his BS in Economics from Villanova University. He served in the US Army in Vietnam and was awarded three Purple Hearts for wounds received in action. Bob worked as a successful building contractor for over 30 years in the Farmington Valley. He was known and respected for his insight and wisdom. Many friends and family considered him a mentor. Those who spent time with Bob admired his confidence and abilities. His sharp sense of humor kept everyone laughing. In the center of his world were his wife and children who were his greatest treasure. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by his family and friends. “To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die.” Besides his beloved wife Marsha he leaves his son Robert A. “Rob” Boschen of Tampa, FL; his daughter Jennifer C. Boschen of Charlotte, NC; Marsha’s family; parents Anthony and Jean Marino of Westbrook and Jupiter, FL, brothers Michael Marino and his wife Cheryl, Mark Marino and his wife Terrie; sister Sandi Dansereau and her husband Pierre; several nieces and nephews; and a cousin Richard Boschen. Bob’s family will receive friends Wednesday, April 21, from 6-8 pm at the Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center, 301 Country Club Road, Avon. A service in celebration of his life will be held Thursday, April 22, 11 am at the Carmon Family Center. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, his family requests that contributions may be made to The Hoffman Heart and Vascular Institute of CT at St. Francis Hospital & Medical Center, 114 Woodland Street Hartford, CT 06105.
