Robert "Bob" Quinn, 74, of North Granby set sail for the open seas from Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford on Tuesday, March 29, with his family by his side. Bob was born on April 16, 1941 in Brooklyn, NY, the youngest child of George and Mary (Knudsen) Quinn. As a boy, he was a loving brother and son and a devoted altar server. He especially enjoyed spending time at the beach. His love of the ocean only grew, and so in early adulthood, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. Upon his honorable discharge from the Navy, he worked for AT&T for over 38 years, providing a wonderful life for his wife and children. He married Agnes (Behilo) on September 12, 1964, and recently celebrated over 51 years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved big brother Tommy, his brother-in-law Al and 2 infant granddaughters. Remembering him with great love are his wife Aggie and his 5 children and their spouses: Carol & Kevin Toomey, Robert & Patricia Quinn, Lisa & John Bradley, Paul & Marie Quinn and Daniel & Jennifer Quinn. He is greatly missed by his sister Patricia Passalacqua, his sister Trudy Fendler and her husband Frank, his sister-in-law Anne Quinn, and his many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. He leaves a legacy with his 12 living grandchildren; Micaela and Mack Toomey, John, Edward, Patrick and Charles Quinn, Nathaniel and Lucas Bradley, and Emily, Joseph, Caroline and Anneliese Quinn, who will always remember him as Pop Pop and Grandpa. They will carry many fond memories of him in their hearts forever. The family would like to thank the following for their support and help during Bob's illness: St. Gabriel Church in Windsor, St. Francis Cancer Center and Hospital, and especially Dr. Rathman and Nurse Kim for their kindness and gentle support throughout his final earthly journey. Calling hours will be held at Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Avenue, Windsor on Friday, April 1 from 4 to 7 pm. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home at 10:30 am on Saturday April 2, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:30 am at St. Gabriel Church in Windsor. Burial will follow at Saint Joseph Cemetery, Windsor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Robert Quinn Grandchildren Education Fund, c/o Liberty Bank, 245 Main Street, Portland, CT 06480 or St. Gabriel Church, 379 Broad St. Windsor, CT 06095. - See more at: http://www.carmonfuneralhome.com/obituary/Robert-Bob-Quinn/North-Granby-CT/1603381#sthash.gcgxJl1w.dpuf
