Robert W. Westrick, 74 of Argusville, ND, passed away on Friday, May 16, 2014 at Sanford Health Palliative Care in Fargo.

Robert was born on March 6, 1940 in Fargo, ND to John and Vivian (Ellingson) Westrick. He grew up in the Harwood/Argusville area. Robert graduated from Fargo Central in 1957 and joined the Hillsboro Army National Guard in 1962.

Robert worked for Bardwell Robinson, Chevrolet Motor Division & Midwest Motor Express before returning to his life's work, carpentry. Over the years he has built and remodeled several homes and churches in the area.

Robert was united in marriage to Karen Burley on December 28, 1963. From this union they had three children, Kari, Wade and Jami.

Grandpa Bob loved spending time with the kids and grandsons. Christmas Eve was a favorite of his with the family.

Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Karen; his children, Kari Joachim of Fargo, Wade (fiancé, Kari Haug) of Harwood, Jami (Bob) Hemerick of West Fargo; grandsons, Mitch Westrick, John Westrick, Jacob Westrick, Joseph Joachim, Joshua Joachim, Dylan Hemerick, Ty Hemerick; brothers, Ronald Westrick of Vergas, MN, Richard Westrick of Powell, WY and Wallace Westrick of Fargo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; nephews, Sean Westrick, Jesse Burley, Eric Burley and brother-in-law, Gale Burley.

A private celebration of Robert's life will be held for family and relatives on Friday, May 23 at 2:00 pm at West Funeral Home, West Fargo, with visitation from 1-2 pm.
