CANTON ~ Roberta Louise Driskell, 96, of Canton, passed away at 7:01 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at her home.

 

Born June 23, 1924 in Urbana to jay Bakes and Carrie Belle (Stevens) Gossett, she married Donald Hugh Driskell on December 21, 1947 in Champaign. He died May 28, 2008 in Pekin. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Alexene Tummelson and three brothers, J.B. Gossett, Jr., Myron F. Gossett and James A. Gossett.

 

Surviving are one son, Danny (Dee) Driskell of Canton; one daughter, Karen (Mike) Bell of Wilsonville, Oregon; seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

 

In the 1960’s, Roberta had worked at Frank Thayer State Farm Insurance Agency as a secretary.

 

Roberta enjoyed gardening, reading and doing needlework.

 

Her private graveside service will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. There will be no visitation.

 

Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
