Roger Alan "Pappy" Loevenguth, 84, of Rock Camp, Ohio passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Cabell-Huntington Hospital in Huntington, WV. The Otway, Ohio native was born March 4, 1930, a son of the late Jacob and Bessie Free Loevenguth. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shirley Colleen Dingus Loevenguth.

Mr. Loevenguth was a 1947 graduate of Otway High School and a U.S. Army Veteran. He was a former correctional officer for the Summit Federal Prison for 24 years and was a member of the United Methodist Church at Rock Camp, where he was the Sunday School Superintendent for 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, collecting old cars and watching the Cincinnati Reds.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by:
five sisters: Ada Hampton, Nola Dotson, Mary White, Wilma Rice and Jean Kegley
five brothers: Oscar Loevenguth, John Loevenguth, Marion Loevenguth, Jake Loevenguth and Phillip Loevenguth

In addition to his wife, he is survived by:
a daughter: Kimberly Hensley of Wheelersburg, OH
three sons: Roger (Shelia) Loevenguth of Columbus, MS, Daniel (Rhonda) Loevenguth of Lexington, KY, and Scott (Carolynn) Loevenguth of Rock Camp, OH
thirteen grandchildren: Michael Hensley, Matthew Hensley both of Wheelersburg, OH, Danielle Allen of Willow Wood, OH, Jacob Loevenguth of Ashland, KY, Jake Brown, Jimmy Brown both of Rock Camp, OH, Jorden Brown of Newport, KY, Thomas Rankin, Jeff Rankin both of Florida, John Reed, Tammy Sanderson both of Columbus, MS, Donna O'Bryant of Pheba, MS, and Christi Larmour of Columbus, MS
twenty-one great grandchildren
numerous nieces, nephews, and church family

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, December 20, 2014 at the United Methodist Church in Rock Camp with Pastor Brad Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in Bazell Cemetery and visitation will be Friday from 5-8 PM at the church and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Donations may be made to the Rock Camp United Methodist Church, Box 83, Rock Camp, OH 45645.
