Ronald Richard DeBruin, (84), beloved father and grandfather, of Richardson, TX, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2017. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on April 3, 1933, the son of Matthew and Irene DeBruin.


He graduated from University of Wisconsin in 1955 with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering. He was a veteran and Captain in the United States Airforce Reserve. In 1988, he retired after an exciting 25+-year career dedicated to water conservation and efficiencies as Water Resources Planning and Management Leader for the Army Corps of Engineers in D.C., Oklahoma, and Texas.


Ron spent his retirement years with his best-dog-friends Coco, Mollie and Fawn walking to the park, birdwatching, sunbathing, and swimming in his backyard pool. He loved to shop for the best bargains in town as well as golf with his friends on all the challenging Dallas links. He was known for his friendly "hellos" to the neighbors, generous donations to strangers and serving on his neighborhood crime watch in Richardson.


He is survived by his sister, Donna; brother, Wayne and spouse Jeanne; son, Scott; daughter, DeAnna; and grandchildren Lindsey and Taylor. He is preceded in death by his parents, Matthew and Irene DeBruin.


An inurnment will take place at the Dallas Ft. Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas at a later date.
