Ronnie “Jack” Williams

August 13, 1940 – September 14, 2017

Ronnie “Jack” Williams, 77, of Elm City, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2017, on what would have been his wife’s 70th birthday. A graveside funeral service will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 18, 2017, in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. Ronnie Williams will officiate.

The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday, September 17th, at Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home, 2704 Nash St. N, Wilson.

Jack, or “Bud” as his grandchildren and friends liked to call him, loved hunting and fishing. He also loved to “tinker” on things, fixing and making them work again. Jack was a true caregiver, looking after and taking care of his wife and grandchildren. Everyone who knew Jack became a part of his “family.” He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Surviving are his son, Ronnie Jackson Williams Jr. and wife, Sarah Carver Williams, of Grimesland; his daughter, Ruby Tyner and husband, Gerald Tyner Jr., of Elm City; four grandchildren, Brantley West Williams, Maggie Elizabeth Williams, Jordan Landis Tyner, and Brandon Clay Tyner; one brother, Steve Williams and wife, Judy, of Wilson; three sisters, Debbie Williams of Wilson, Virginia Langley of Goldsboro, and Helen Edwards of Wilson; and a brother-in-law he considered a brother, Billy Oakey of Elm City.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Brantley Williams; parents, Romey and Aileen West Williams; a brother, Edward Williams; and a sister, Grace Moore.
