Ronnie Glenn Wilson, 68, passed away Sunday, October 29, 2017 in Haslet, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church of Electra, Texas with Pastor Bob Lee officiating. Graveside services with military honors will follow at the Electra Memorial Park in Electra, Texas. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park, Texas.
Ronnie was born February 27, 1949 in Vernon, Texas to Hershel and Lela Rae (Houtchens) Wilson. He joined the Army in 1968, serving two tours in Vietnam. He was awarded four bronze stars and several other commendations. If you were to ask Ronnie how he was doing, no matter what, he would always say, "I've never had a bad day." Ronnie had a passion for fixing cars and computers. He was a very giving person who made a positive impression on everyone he met with his larger than life sense of humor and big heart.
Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents; son, Ronnie Whatley; brother, Don Wilson; nephew, Bill Harris; and brother-in-law, Frank Harris.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Betty (Stuart) Wilson of Haslet, Texas; daughters, Kristen and husband, Luis Moreno of Boyd, Texas and Nicole Wilson of Frisco, Texas; two grandchildren, Marcus and Christian Moreno; sister, Glenda Harris of Wylie, Texas; brothers, Larry and wife, Marla Wilson of Edmond, Oklahoma and Freddie and wife Glenda Wilson of Gainesville, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
