Rose Elizabeth Mather, 98, of Canaan, beloved wife of the late Robert James Mather Sr., passed away Friday, March 16, 2018. Born in Norwich, CT, to John and Elizabeth (Smith) Morton on August 29, 1919. She was raised in Norwich and worked many years for Norwich Free Academy as an Attendance Officer. She leaves a daughter Arlene M. Beebe and her husband Dr. Roy Beebe of Farmington; a son Robert J. Mather, Jr., and Bonnie Sheldon of East Canaan; grandchildren; Jenna Beebe-Aryee, Brittany Beebe, Lindsay Beebe, Sarah Mather Pollock, Justin Mather, Bethany Mielke and great grandchildren Isabella Pollock, Fiona Pollocl and Evan Mielke. She was predeceased by her husband and her grandson Tyler M. Beebe. A private family memorial will be held at the convenience of the family with burial with her husband in Maplewood Cemetery, Norwich. The Carmon Funeral home and Family Center of Avon is caring for the arrangements.
