Ruby Lucille Ballard, 87, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2017 in Kaufman, TX. She was born to George and Edith (Willoughby) Mageors on April 19, 1929 in Ennis, TX.

Ruby was a very sweet lady that will be remembered for her quiet and unassuming manner. Having lived in Kaufman most of her life, she enjoyed working in her yard and usually always had a “pot of beans” and homemade biscuits cooking. She loved cats, Dr. Pepper’s, honey buns and country music. Ruby was especially a faithful supporter of Hank Thompson, “The King of Western Swing”, Tennessee Ernie Ford and Elvis. Ruby spent the last few years of her life at Sunflower Park and the musical entertainment provided there was a highlight of her days.

Preceding her in death are her parents George and Edith Mageors; husband of 48 years, Odis Ballard; sons Jimmy Ballard and Ricky Ballard; and one brother.

Those left to cherish her memory are niece Patsy Crenshaw and husband, Wes, nephew John Williams and wife, Judy, Roland Blakely and wife, Dana, niece Beverly and sister-in-law Shirley Mageors; many extended family members and friends that will miss her dearly.

Visitation will be 12:00 – 1:00 p.m.on Tuesday, February 28, 2016 at Anderson-Clayton Bros. Funeral Home in Kaufman, TX. Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday as well, followed by interment in the Kaufman City Cemetery.
