Ruth T. Demers, 84 of Nashua, NH, widow of Julien R. Demers died on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at her home after a lengthy battle with cancer. Mrs. Demers was born on July 7, 1929 in Woonsocket, RI, a daughter of the late Romeo and Gertrude (Tessier) Bellerose. She was raised and educated in Woonsocket and graduated from St. Mary's Academy, class of 1947. Ruth and her husband Julien were married in Woonsocket on May 30, 1953 and moved to Nashua to make their home.

She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, playing bingo, bowling, working jigsaw puzzles and watching the Red Sox and Patriots. She was a talented seamstress designing and making show costumes for Bishop Guertin Musical Shows in the 1970's. She belonged to the St. Joseph's Parish Rosary Altar Society, the Nashua Seniors Center and the Children of Mary in RI. She was also a member of the Bishop Guertin High School Mother's Club. Mrs. Demers had been employed by the food service department at Bishop Guertin High School, worked as a seamstress at Bergerons Men's Shop and retired from The Chagnon Lumber Company after many years of service in the business office.

Survivors include three sons and a daughter. Robert and wife Susan of Nashua, Dennis and wife Tina of Grapevine, TX, Daniel of Merrimack ad Elizabeth "Betty" Ann St. Laurent of Nashua. She has eight grandchildren; Matthew Demers of Bristol, RI, Sarah and husband Stephen Martin of Milford, NH, Alyssa St. Laurent of Newton, MA, Lauren, Ross and Bevin Demers of Richardson, TX, Ryan Demers of Keene, NH and Amy Demers of Merrimack, NH and four great-grandchildren; Julien Demers of Richardson, TX, Wesley and Reid Martin of Milford and Liam Foss of Keene. She has one sister; Doris L'Hereux and husband Ray of Brookline, NH. Brothers and sisters in law include Andre Cloutier, Jeanne O'Loughlin, Cecile Mitchell, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Richards and Mr. and Mrs. Guy Demers. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by a brother; Maurice Bellerose and a sister; Bernadette Cloutier.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 10:00am Saturday, May 18, 2013 in St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 777 W. Hollis St., Nashua. Interment followed in St. Louis Cemetery, 752 W. Hollis St., Nashua. In lieu of flowers donations may be directed to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. The St. Laurent Funeral Home, 116 Elm St., Nashua is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be offered at
