CAYCE - Sadie Segars Kelly, 96, passed away Friday, December 8, 2017 in her home with her daughter Barbara by her side. She was a longtime resident of Cayce. Sadie was born in Kelley Town, Darlington County, S.C. on October 15, 1921 to the late William Robert and Sarah Laney Kelley Segars.

She was a loyal member of Faith Lutheran Church in Cayce. She was also a member of Transfiguration Lutheran Church for a number of years. She had a love and devotion to both churches, where she was involved in the Women’s Circle. The family is comforted that she is at peace with her Lord.

Sadie worked at Colonial Stores and at Richland Wholesale Liquors until her retirement. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, the VFW Post 8130 and 641, and American Legion Post 130.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Benjamin Edward Kelly; sister, Charlotte S. Dodd; step-brothers, William Robert Segars, Jr. and Laverne Herbert Segars; and her son, Benjamin Edward Kelly, Jr.

Surviving are her devoted daughter, Barbara Ann Kelly; son, William Robert Kelly; family member, Sandra Kelly McKinney; loving grandchildren, Benjamin Edward Kelly, III (Stella), Gregory Todd Kelly (Sandra), and William Rhett Kelly (Dana); her adoring great-grandchildren, Dr. Ann Gregory Kelly-Ewald (Chris), Katherine Lee Kelly, Austin Gregory Kelly, Caroline Sarah Kelly, and Campbell Suzanne Kelly; step-great-grandchildren, Ashley Sloan Lawson and Macey Claire Lawson; nephews, Johnny R. Dodd and Harold D. Dodd; and many other extended family members.

The service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 with a visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family.

Pallbearers for the service will be Gene Reynolds, Gary H. Smith, Benjamin Gore, Donald Gore, Clifford Lee, Harold Dodd, Jr., David Dodd, Matthew Dodd, and Frank Williams as an honorary pallbearer.

The family would like to thank her loving and devoted daughter, Barbara Ann Kelly, who was her primary caregiver, and Betty Ruff, Shirley Karriem and Christine Brown.
