Sammye Loyce Speer, age 77, of Lubbock, Texas Passed Away on Thursday November 9, 2017.
Sammye was born in Lubbock, TX on March 3, 1940 to Charles Edgar and Monroe Eloise Goode Thompson. Sammye attended Lubbock High School. She married Albert Joe Schneider July 16, 1956 and was widowed March, 1982. She married Randall Speer January 14, 1984.

Sammye was district secretary for Gibson Products for 10 years. Not long after Gibson Products closed, she and Mark Green established Feed Services, Inc., a dairy and cattle feed merchandiser in Lubbock. She retired from Feed Services in 2008.

Sammye was an early member of St Luke's Methodist Church, was an active member of her children's Parent Teacher Associations, and upon retirement, she volunteered with the Covenant Lakeside Auxiliary, serving as treasurer until her illness.


She loved her family more than anything and particularly enjoyed frequent shopping trips with "the girls". She enjoyed playtime with her grandchildren. She loved all things pink, old classic movies, bird houses, carousels, and gardening in her yard.

Sammye is survived by her husband, Randall Speer, son Eddie and wife Bonnie Schneider of Abilene, TX, daughter Theresa (Terri) and husband Todd Ramsey of Lubbock,TX, grandchildren Matt Schneider of Abilene, Katy and Shawn Bradley of Salado, Joey Schneider, of Abilene, Amber and Heath Bozeman of Idalou, Ashley and Taylor Jameson of Lubbock, TX, great grandchildren Christopher Fudge & Averi Bradley of Salado, Will, Alex, Austin & Andrew Schneider of Abilene, Blaze, Brooks & Bronte Bozeman of Idalou & Charlie Jameson of Lubbock. Sister Lynda Gardner of Lubbock and Brother Charles (Rusty) and wife Tricia of Lubbock.

The family extends a special thank you for all the loving care rendered to Sammye by the nurses at Beyond Faith.

A visitation for Sammye will be held Sunday, November 12, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 13, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Resthaven's Abbey Chapel with Brian Brownlow officiating. An interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park, Lubbock, Texas.

Serving as pallbearers are Bill McWilliams, Justin Thompson, Dustin Thompson, Allen Rundell, Keith Glatz and Scott Cornelius.
