Samuel D. "Joe" Renchen, 93, of Tollesboro, Kentucky died Thursday, December 15, 2016 at the Pioneer Trace Nursing Home. Mr. Renchen was the widower of Joyce Ann Clark Renchen who died in 2010. He was a mechanic by trade and was a World War II veteran having served in the US Army. Mr. Renchen was born in Lewis County, Kentucky on April 4, 1923 the son of the late Desmond and Beulah Himes Renchen. Survivors include a special grandson, Samuel Rae Clark; his children, Meridith Renchen, Garland Renchen, Kent Renchen, David Renchen, Clifford Renchen, Timmy Renchen, Darren Renchen, Ellen Kielman, Gilda Thornton, Vanita Grades, Lynn Ziegler and Annette Shepherd; twenty one grandchildren; several great grandchildren; one brother, Aubrey Wayne Renchen and a sister-in-law, Sandy (David) Clark. Besides his wife and his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Barry Renchen and Terrry Renchen, one brother, Ray Renchen and one sister, Virginia Highfield. Funeral services for Joe Renchen will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, December 19, 2016 with Rev. Phil Cropper officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Garden of Memories. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00 AM until the hour of the service.
