Sandra Jacobs was born March 3, 1949 in St. Louis, Missouri and was the sixth of seven children born to J.B. and Iceola Jacobs. While growing up, Sandra attended 23rd & Delmar Church with her family and it was discovered that Sandra was anointed with the gift of singing. As her father was an elder in the church and her mom was a pianist, Sandra sang as part of the family singing group "The Jacobs Singers." In later years she became the church soloist at Bostick Temple (formerly 23rd & Delmar) under the leadership of Elder Sanders. Singing gave her great joy as she was called upon to sing at many special occasions. While attending Soldan High School where she graduated in 1967, she performed with the Glee Club. Sandra was also a 30 year retired City of St. Louis employee. She served in numerous capacities such as a nurses' aide, house parent, traffic division dispatcher and even a very short stint as an EMS dispatcher. Sandra leaves her love with: one daughter, Geneta; two grandchildren, LeSaundra and Terrell; one sister, Karen Jones; sister-in-law, Sharon Jacobs; a sister friend, Margaret Porter; childhood friend, Bernice Bland; other extended family and countless friends.
