My heart is heavy with the fact that you have been away for 10 years now. I couldn't of imagined how these years would go by without you here. I remember one day when I was inconsolable and you were trying to help me cope with what the future held for our family. You assured me over and over that we would all be okay, no matter what the outcome...I felt like my world was spinning in a twister; there was no possible way that my life without you would be okay...now an unbelievable ten years later, here I am. I do have a truly wonderful life and you were, (of course) right. Not a day goes by that you are not a part of my thoughts. I wouldn't be who I am or where I am in this life if not for you. Your impact on all of us (my kids included) is tremendous and ever present...I will never lose this hole in my heart that came when you left. I instead try to fill it with every single memory of every little thing that I can and hold them tight, only letting go to pass them on to my own kids...The pain is still real and deep. But I mostly keep it tucked away because I know you would want me to and I want to make those same everlasting memories with your grandsons...my amazing beautiful boys...I love you so much Mom, you will always be with me everywhere I go and everything I do...never to be forgotten. Mom I love you and miss you. No amount of time will heal the sorrow in my heart left by your passing. You taught me by example not to let difficult times cloud the greatness that this life has to offer. Another year goes by and yet the loss of your presence in my life is palpable.
