Sandra Kay "Sandy" Puckett, 74, of Stuarts Draft passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at her residence. She was born on January 16, 1942, a daughter of the late Dennis H. and Leona M. Brown.
Sandy was a graduate of the 1959 class of Wilson Memorial High School. She worked as a day care provider at Shenandoah Heights Baptist Church in Waynesboro. Sandy was an active member of Mountain View Mennonite Church. She greatly enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and baking for her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Wanda Morris.
Survivors include her loving husband of 53 years, Donnie W. Puckett; three sons, Joseph Puckett and wife, Sharon, Douglas Puckett and wife, Marsha, and Benjamin Puckett and wife, Nedra; 10 grandchildren, Evan, Sarah, Luke, Ella, Skylar, Jonathan, Olivia, and Alex Puckett, Jacob Wyrick, and Erin Snell and her husband, Ray; two great grandchildren, Katie and Ruby Snell; sister, Joyce Cook and husband, Ronnie; dear friends, Ava Griffin, Luanne Hatter, and Gloria Templeton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Mountain View Mennonite Church, 55 Love Rd., Lyndhurst, VA with Pastor Earl Monroe officiating. Burial to follow in church cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Dennis Hatter, Gary Cook, John Hodge, Luke Puckett, Ray Snell, Evan Puckett, Jacob Wyrick, and Jonathan Puckett.
The family will receive friend from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2016 at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah and the Shenandoah Nursing Home for the wonderful care of Sandy. Thank you to her church friends for all the loving support.
