Sherwood Lee Rollish, age 87, went to be with his Lord at home, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, January 13, 2018.

He was born in Houston, Texas on April 29, 1930 and was raised in Galveston, Texas. He lived in Galveston, until his marriage at the age of 20.

He married Lorene Sebesta on August 27, 1950. Sherwood and Lorene only lived one-half block from each other and would ride the school bus together. They were heavily involved in the youth group of Bible Baptist Church and Pastor Elden Belew was a strong influence in Sherwood's life. Sherwood moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 1950 to attend Bible Baptist Seminary, now named Arlington Baptist College. After seminary, he attended Texas Wesleyan College in Fort Worth.

He enjoyed 23 years of peaceful retirement after working in the aircraft industry for more than 40 years, which included General Motors, Meacham Airport in Fort Worth, Love Field in Dallas and retired from General Dynamics/Lockheed Martin in Fort Worth, where he worked for 17 years. During his career, Sherwood had the opportunity to install custom carpentry on Elvis Presley's plane, Charlie Pride's plane, Air Force One under President Richard Nixon, and many other national and international celebrities and dignitaries.

He is survived by his wife, Lorene, son Donald Lee Rollish, 62, wife Ana, daughter Sherene Anita Long, 53, husband Ed, son John William Rollish, 47, wife Sherri, grandchildren Christina Long, Ryan Long, Kathryn Long, Pedro Da Silva, Bella Rollish and Gabriel Rollish, family members Carl Owens, wife Gale, Glenda Owens, Kenny Owens, wife Joyce Lea, Sue Humphrey, husband Jimmy, and many nieces and nephews. Sherwood was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Belton, Texas and 'loved' his Sunday School class, the Senior Adults. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home in Temple, Texas. All are invited to attend the graveside service in Snook, Texas on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 1:00 pm.
