Shirley Lois Oliver, 79, of Bedford, Texas, passed away on December 27, 2017, at her home with family.

Shirley was born in Canadian, Texas on May 14, 1938. Shirley was married to Bobby Joe "BJ" Rhea on February 22,1965; they were married 39 years.

After raising four daughters, Shirley had a successful career in sales. First with Nestle as one of the first female sales reps ever hired, and then as a top producer with Brown Moore & Flint. In retirement, she and BJ loved to travel, spend time with their family and enjoy their hobbies at their Possum Kingdom Lake home. After the passing of her beloved BJ, Shirley became actively involved in The Red Hat Society by founding her own chapter and serving as the group's Queen Bee. These ladies became her dearest of friends, giving her purpose and a platform to grow relationships. Shirley was an instant friend to everyone she met, charming the stuffiest of doctors and nurses. She was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her.

Shirley is survived by daughters Beckie Rhea of Irving; Debbie (Bill) Allen of Ardmore, OK; Jana (Eric) Schultz of Colleyville, and Shana (Chad) Markle of Colleyville. Grandchildren: Bonnie (Jason) Sewell, Lauren (Mike SoRelle) Anderson, Haley Allen, Hannah Markle, Parker Schultz, & Chloe Markle. Great-Grandchildren: Alex Keiser, Riley Engle & Reagan Sewell.

Shirley is preceded in death by her husband BJ, her parents, Britton and Lucille (Chaffin) Oliver, her siblings Harrel Oliver, Bobbie Sue Billings and Tommy Oliver.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, December 30th at J. E. Foust & Son Funeral Home in Grapevine, TX. A private Interment of her ashes will be held in the Committal Sanctuary of the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to BJ. A celebratory scattering of her ashes will be held this spring off the sunset porch with her Possum Kingdom Lake family.
