Stephen Butera, age 67, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at his longtime home in Bristol. He was the beloved husband of Felecia (Freiday) Butera.

Born in Jacksonville, FL, he was the son of the late Vincent and Emma (Matthews) Butera, and brother to the late Douglas Butera.

He attended East Providence High School and the Rhode Island School of Music. He was a manager in furniture retail for many years and later became a valued member of Butera Building, LLC, a family business.

Stephen was an accomplished drummer who had mastered many other instruments, such as the piano and guitar. With his drumsticks, he traveled the Hilton Hotel circuit performing at numerous musical venues. He was an avid boater who enjoyed cruising the bay, and loved his muscle cars and motorcycles. Not only was he extremely intelligent, handsome and fun-loving, he had a true heart of gold and a kind, gentle soul. He will be missed by many, but especially the family that he fiercely loved, took care of and always protected.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his loving brother, David Butera and his wife Sheila of Barrington. His nephew David Butera, Jr. and his wife Kim of Bristol, nephew Bryan Butera and niece Brittany Butera, both of Barrington.
