Franklin- Stephen Edward Camillucci, 75, of Franklin passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 21, 2016 surrounded by his family after a long battle with Alzheimers. He was born on March 19, 1940 in new London, Connecticut. He is pre-deceased by his parents, Viscio and Marie (Delaporta) Camillucci, and by his siblings James, Richard, Albert Sr., and Palma.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jean (Fulton), who he was united in marriage to on July 2, 1959.

In addition to his wife, Steve leaves behind his four children and their spouses; Michael and Grace Camillucci of Norwich; Paula Camillucci of Uncasville; Joseph and Kathi Camillucci of Taftville; and Anthony and Tiffany Camillucci of Franklin.

Steve has many grandchildren who will miss him dearly; Angela and Robert Cochran of Gales Ferry; Michele Camillucci of Norwich; Stephen Camillucci and Amy Vaill of Salem; Alivia Camillucci of Taftville; and Nicolas and Lena Camillucci of Franklin.

He also leaves behind one great-grandchild; Michael Cochran of Gales Ferry; along with many nieces and nephews; and of course his faithful companion, Petey.

Steve started his long welding career at Electric Boat in 1956. He then transitioned to Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 305 in 1965, where he was one of the first welders at the Millstone Power Station. After his retirement in 1996, he became a welding instructor through Local 777. He was a 45 year member and proud of it.

He will always be remembered for his love of sports, Corvettes, and motorcycles. He could often be spotted by friends and family riding one of his many Harley-Davidson motorcycles or award-winning Corvettes around South Eastern Connecticut.

The Camillucci Family would like to send a sincere thank you to Hartford Healthcare at Home Hospice for their outstanding, compassionate care; and also to his dedicated doctors.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the Alzheimer's Association.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 29, 2016 at 10:00am in St. Joseph Church in New London. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New London.
