Steven Francis Klemonsky, age 56, of Granby, passed away at St. Francis Hospital on Sunday, December 8 fighting like hell against colon cancer. He maintained his sarcasm and sense of humor throughout his battle with cancer and last few days in the hospital.

Steven was born on January 23, 1963 in Hartford, son of John J. and Patricia (O'Donnell) Klemonsky. He was raised in Granby and attended Granby Public Schools.

After high school, Steven met his first wife, Bonita (Haught) Klemonsky. Steven and Bonita moved to Maine where they lived for several years before getting married and having their twins in 1992. Steven and Bonita divorced a few years later. Steven moved to Simsbury and married his second wife, Mary (Garrepy) Klemonsky, and had his third daughter in 1997. Steven and Mary also divorced a few years later.

Steven was a very hard working and meticulous self-employed carpenter. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing the guitar, dancing, and kayaking. He more recently taught swing dance lessons at The Polish National Home in Hartford. Steven also had many friends and was always willing to lend a hand, or a hammer to them, as well as to his family.

Steven leaves his three children, Danielle Klemonsky and her fiancé Daniel of Berlin, Erica Klemonsky and her boyfriend Albert of Canton, and Mary Klemonsky, her boyfriend Eric, and their son Jaden of Simsbury; his six siblings, Kathleen Courser and her husband Robert of Granby, John J. Klemonsky III and his wife Karen of East Granby, Susan Fedorjaczenko of Simsbury, Jimmy Klemonsky of Simsbury, Paul Klemonsky of Granby, and Timothy Klemonsky of Wilmington, NC. Steven also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, John J. Klemonsky II, his mother Patricia Peling, and his stepfather, Ralph Peling.

His family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 18, 3-6pm at the Cremation Society of Connecticut located in Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor
