Susie Vasquez Luera was born in Houston, Texas on June 7, 1929 to Elijio and Josephine Padilla Vasquez. She passed from this life and was welcomed with jubilee in heaven by her Lord and Savior on October 29, 2017, at the age of 88 years. Susie is survived by her loving family which includes her daughters, Cynthia Luera Martinez and Melva Grace Luera; her grandchildren, Alexandria Josephine and Chelsea Lauren Martinez; and one sister; Gloria Vasquez Rodriguez and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Susie was a devout Catholic woman. Her faith and love for Christ and His Blessed Mother was unwavering and she taught these virtues to her family by example. Susie loved to laugh and had a warm and engaging smile for everyone. She enjoyed entertaining family and friends and loved to travel with her children and grandchildren. She was a self-employed beautician for 22 years before she enjoyed her glorious retirement years as an endearing grandmother. Family was always a very important value that she nurtured throughout her life.

She is preceded by death by her father and mother Elijio Vasquez and Josephine Padilla Vasquez; brothers; Pedro Vasquez Sr. and Carlos Vasquez and brother-in-law; Lorenzo P. Rodriquez Sr.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home on 13102 North Freeway, Houston, TX 77060. A Rosary will be held at 7:00pm.

The Funeral Mass will be Friday November 3, 2017 at 12:00pm at Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Church on 18511 Klein Church Rd, Spring, TX 77379. A final viewing will be held from 11:00am - 11:45am before Mass.

Following the conclusion of Mass a procession will proceed to the burial site at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral at 6900 Lawndale Avenue, Houston, Texas 77023. Burial ceremony will begin at 2:00pm.
