Mr. Ted Franklin Williamson, 76, of Thomasville, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday April 4, 2017.
A resident of this area all of his life, Ted was born on January 14, 1941 in Davidson County, a son of the late Harvey Winfield and Thursa Alice Hodge Williamson. Ted had worked as a truck driver and was a former Davidson County Sheriff's Deputy. He had also worked in construction for numerous years as a supervisor for E.E. Younts and crane operator for Gray Concrete. A true outdoorsman, Ted was an avid fisherman and hunter, having served as past president of Rocky Creek Hunt Club. He was a dedicated and faithful member of Carolina Memorial Baptist Church, where he was active in the Church Brotherhood.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Teddy Maria Williamson Palmer, three brothers, and one sister.
Surviving are his wife, Maxine Hemric Williamson of the home; son, Robert Winfield "Bobby" Williamson, Sr. and wife Debbie of Lexington; two daughters, Janice Darlene Williamson and husband Butch Reddick of Thomasville and Kimily Ann Williamson and husband Ellis McIntosh of Lexington; son-in-law, Jeffrey Dean Palmer; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and special friend, Arnold Atwood.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am Friday, April 7, 2017 at Carolina Memorial Baptist Church, 422 Liberty Drive, Thomasville, with Rev. Stuart White and Rev. Jason Poe officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Thomasville Funeral Home, 18 Randolph Street and other times at the home.
