Thelma McNeece, 95, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2017 in San Antonio, Texas.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 17th from 9:00 to 11:00 AM, with funeral services to follow, at Raymond Road Baptist Church, 4622 Raymond Rd, Jackson, MS 39212. Interment will be at Lakewood Memorial Park.

Thelma was born on October 6, 1922 in Fame, OK and moved to Jackson when she was eight years old. Upon graduation from Forest Hill High School, she married Clinton R. McNeece of Smith County, MS. Clinton’s National Guard unit was activated with the outbreak of WWII and his military service took them to Florida and then California. When his service was completed the couple returned to Jackson.

Thelma worked for the Jackson Daily News for several years and later for Jackson Lighting Center where she was known by everyone as "Miz Mack". She was very active in the Forest Hill Chapter (and later the Leavell Woods Chapter) of the Eastern Star.

"Aunt Thelma", as she was affectionately known, centered her life around church and family. She was a long time member of Forest Hill Baptist Church and then Raymond Road Baptist Church.

In 2010 she moved to McKinney, TX to live with her son Ray and his family. In January, 2016 the family relocated to the San Antonio area. After complications from a fall, she passed on the morning of November 9th.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Clinton McNeece; parents, Willie Dean and Annie Bridges Williams; brother, Don Wiliams; and sister, Louise Greene.

Mrs. McNeece is survived by her son, Ray McNeece (Donna) of Boerne, TX; grandchildren, Brady McNeece and Amber McNeece Beckworth (Greg); great granddaughter, Madison Beckworth; sister, Betty Lou Houston of Clinton, MS. and brother, Dr. Dean Williams (Jean) of Pascagoula and numerous nieces and nephews.
