Therese G. (Mercier) Faria, of Holiday, FL and Fairhaven, MA, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2016 after losing her courageous and brave battle with cancer. She was born May 3, 1926 in Acushnet, MA to Joanna (Ferron) and Frank X. Mercier.

After getting married, Terry moved to Fairhaven, MA where, with her husband, Manuel, raised their four children. Terry and Manny moved from Fairhaven, MA to Holiday, FL in 1981, traveling back to Massachusetts each summer to be with family. Terry leaves behind her husband of 66 years, Manny. They would have celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary on Thanksgiving Day of this year.

Terry was an avid reader and enjoyed walks and playing cards with friends. She was in a bowling league when living in Fairhaven. Terry truly loved playing croquet well into her later years with family and friends. The croquet matches were always quite competitive. Terry was an avid Boston sports fan. Her favorite, though, was her Boston Red Sox. She was beyond loyal through all the losing years and absolutely thrilled with their recent World Series wins. Terry was an active member of and held office in the owners association at the Lake Conley Mobile Park in Holiday.

She leaves three children, Lynne Cormier of Brewster, MA, Mark and his wife, Debbie of New Bedford, MA and Jeff and his wife, Kristy of Sandford, CT; five grandchildren, Craig, Courtney, Rebecca, Aaron and Benjamin; two great grandchildren, Daxton and Weston; and many nieces and nephews. Her son, Manuel, Jr., predeceased her. Terry/Mom/Gramma will be forever loved and missed.

A special "Thank You" to the nursing team and staff at Peninsula Care & Rehabilitation Center of Tarpon Springs, FL. Their care, support and compassion were deeply felt and appreciated. Her funeral will be Monday, December 5, 2016 at 9 a.m. from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Fairlawn, 180 Washington St., Fairhaven followed by a funeral mass at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 74 Spring St., Fairhaven. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in memory of Terry to a charity of your choice.
